On August 12, 2021 at 8:48 am, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Austin Rios conducted a Required Annual inspection. LPA asked Covid-19 screening questions prior to entering the facility. LPA met with Director Peggy Schreiber and advised her the purpose of the inspection. LPA conducted a tour of the facility inside and out. There were zero children in care at the time of the inspection due to summer break. The center is located on the grounds of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church. The center operates from 7am to 6pm Monday to Friday.

Licensing required notices were posted prominently on the wall at the entrance of the facility. The center currently uses six classrooms. The classrooms and restrooms where observed to be clean and sanitary. LPA did not observe any toxins/hazardous items accessible to children. Center has functioning carbon monoxide detectors. The classrooms have age appropriate toys and furniture available for children. LPA observed and reviewed the posted snack menu. The center provides a morning and afternoon snack and the children bring their own lunch. The outdoor playground has age appropriate toys and equipment. The playground has an ample amount of shade available. The center has water available for children inside and out. The center does provide incidental medical services. LPA observed where the children medication is stored and secured. Center uses Procare sign-in/sign-out sheet which is done electronically.

Kitchen was observed to be clean and sanitary. All storage containers for solid waste have tight-fitting covers. A sampling of children and staff records were reviewed and found complete. Teachers have required qualifications. Teachers present have current Pediatric First Aid/CPR certificates that expire on 8/2022. Teachers present have current AB 1207 Mandated Reporter training certificates that expire on 9/22/2021. LPA verified SB 792 Child Care employee Immunization and Tuberculosis Requirements.

Incidental Medical Services (IMS) policy was discussed and currently the center does have children with IMS. Plan of Operations on file. For IMS information see Evaluator Manual - Regulation Interpretations and Procedures for Child Care Centers Sections 101173 and 101226. When any IMS is provided, an updated Plan of Operation that includes IMS must be submitted to the Department. No deficiencies were cited during today's visit.
