LPA met with Director Corrie Stevens. LPA asked Covid-19 screening questions prior to entering the facility. LPA advised the purpose of the inspection. LPA conducted a tour of the facility inside and out. The school age program operates on the grounds of Serra Padre Elementary in portable number 27. There were eleven children in care and three staff at the time of the inspection. The facility operates 1:15 PM to 6:00 PM. The center is open Monday thru Friday and operates on the school calendar. There is two classrooms and bathrooms located in classroom number 27. Bathrooms were observed to be clean and free of toxins. There is also a sink in each of the classrooms. There is water available inside and outside for the children to have access too. The outdoor playground is part of the Elementary School campus. The playground has age appropriate toys and equipment in good condition. LPA did not observe any toxins/hazardous items accessible to children in the classrooms. The classroom has age appropriate toys and furniture available for children. LPA observed and reviewed the posted snack menu. The center provides afternoon snack. LPA reviewed Center written sign-in/sign-out sheets. Continued on 809-C

A sampling of children and staff records were reviewed and found complete. At least one staff present has current Pediatric First Aid/CPR certificate that expires on 6/15/2023. Teachers present have current AB 1207 Mandated Reporter Training certificates that expire on 3/5/2022.

Incidental Medical Services (IMS) policy was discussed and currently the center does have two children with IMS. Plan of Operations on file and LPA observed medications stored in a locked box up high in the office. For IMS information see Evaluator Manual - Regulation Interpretations and Procedures for Child Care Centers Sections 101173 and 101226. When any IMS is provided, an updated Plan of Operation that includes IMS must be submitted to the Department. No deficiencies were cited during today's visit.
