Director acknowledge the allegation were in fact true. Director stated C1 has behavioral issues and has communicated with the guardian of C1. Director stated staff has been keeping C1 closer to them to try and stop altercation between C1 and other children from happening.
Four staff interviews were conducted and LPA determined all staff present knew the protocol and what to do when a child is injured. It was also determined by LPA, when staff has a child with behavioral issues, they provide extra care, sometimes one on one training, and notify parents.
File records reviewed by LPA, determined children incidents were being documented and discussed with parents. File records reviewed, determined C1 had an altercation with C2 on 1/27/2022, which ended with C2 having a scratch on the back of the neck. File records also determined C1 had an altercation with C3, which C3 ended with a scratch on the chest.
Three parent Interviews were conducted and it was determined by LPA, all parents felt the care and supervision was wonderful and did not have any issues. One parent also expressed her child has autism and the staff has proven to be more involved.
LPA observed staff were in compliance with Teacher-Child Ratio on 3/16/2022, 3/23/2022, and 4/8/2022. LPA determined staff were in compliance during the altercations that involved C1 and were observant but couldn't react quick enough to prevent the altercations from happening.
Based on LPAs observations and interviews which were conducted and record review(s), the preponderance of evidence standard has been met, therefore the above allegation(s) is found to be SUBSTANTIATED.
A Technical Violation was issued today for the above allegations. No deficiencies were issued.
