On August 5, 2022 at 10:23 AM Licensing Program Analyst's (LPA's) Laura Villanueva and Susana Martinez conducted an unannounced required one year annual inspection. LPA's met with licensee Teresa Larios and explained the reason for the inspection. At the time of inspection there were 8 children in care with an assistant. Together with the licensee, LPA's toured the home inside and out. The home is single-story house with 5 rooms and 2 bathrooms. The licensee primarily uses three rooms, living room, and backyard for day-care. The rooms that are off limits have a latch preventing children access to the rooms. There is a screened fireplace in the living room.

During the tour of the home LPA's observed a fire extinguisher 2A10BC mounted in the kitchen wall with a receipt showing purchase date of 10/2/2021. A dual carbon and smoke detector is located in the hallway. Licensee was reminded to purchase or service a fire extinguisher every year. Knives were observed to be in a kitchen cabinet with a magnet lock preventing children access. Licensee states cleaning supplies are stored in the garage and are off limits to children in care. The facility was observed to be free of toxins/ hazardous items. The facility has plenty of age-appropriate toys, learning materials, and structures inside and out. There were no bodies of water present at the time of inspection.

LPA's reviewed a sampling of the children's records and found them all to be complete and up to date. LPA's also reviewed the assistant's records and found all documents to be current with First Aid and CPR certificate expiring June 2023 and Mandated Reporter (AB1207) expiring 7/6/2023. At 11:05 AM LPA observed licensee's Mandated Reporter Training Certificate to be expired as of 5/2/2022. Licensee states she will be completing the training as soon as possible.
