On December 1, 2021 at 1:00 PM, Licensing Program Analysts (LPAs) Betzayra Cervantes and Michael Mathew made an unannounced visit to conduct a Required - 1 Year Inspection. LPA met with licensee Araceli Perea-Salas and explained the purpose of the inspection. Prior to entering the facility, LPA conducted a COVID-19 risk assessment. All answers indicated no exposure to COVID-19. LPAs in the company of the Licensee toured the interior and exterior of the facility. There were seven children in care at the time of the inspection.

The home is a four bedroom, three bath, two story home. The licensee uses the living room, kitchen, dining room, family room, one bedroom, one bathroom and backyard for the childcare. The three bedrooms, two bathrooms and garage are off limits and are inaccessible to children in care. LPA observed a child safety gate at the base of the stairs, making the upstairs inaccessible. LPA observed a fireplace with a glass screen preventing children from having access. There are age appropriate toys and day-care equipment in the home. The back yard has age appropriate toys and materials in good condition and free of hazards. The bathroom to be used for children in care was observed to be clean and sanitary. LPA observed that outdoor areas are fully enclosed. Licensee states that she has one small dog which is kept in a separate locked area from the daycare. Licensee reported that the dog's vaccinations are up to date.

LPA did not observe any toxins/hazardous items accessible to children. A regulation 2A10BC fire extinguisher was observed in the kitchen with a service date of 09/14/2021. Licensee is reminded to service or purchase the fire extinguisher yearly. LPA did not have licensee test dual smoke and carbon monoxide detectors in the home given that 6 children were napping. Licensee's Pediatric First Aid/CPR certificate is valid until 07/11/22. Licensee stated that she was in the process of completing her Mandated Reporter Training when LPA arrived. LPA advised to submit proof of completion by end of business today to remain in compliance. Licensee last completed a fire drill on 11/2/2021.
