Licensing Program Analysts (LPAs) C. Patterson and S. Mendoza-Ceja conducted an unannounced visit for the purposes of an RANDOM ANNUAL INSPECTION. LPAs met with director Angela McQuirter and explained the purpose of the visit. The center is located on the premises of Hathaway Elementary School. The center operates Monday thru Friday from 8-11:30am and 12:30-4pm. The facility was toured inside and outside. LPAs did not observe any bodies of water. Director McQuirter stated that the center does not contain firearms or ammunition. The classroom has age appropriate equipment/furnishings and toys. There is a bathroom inside the classroom. LPAs did not observe any toxins/hazardous items accessible to children. LPAs reviewed the snack menu. Parents sign in and out electronically. LPAs observed that the outdoor play structure has sufficient cushioning. Children's records were inspected. Also reviewed were the handouts "Safe Sleep in Child Care, A Child Care Provider's Guide to Safe Sleep, and the Effects of Lead Exposure".

This facility provides Incidental Medical Services – IMS. LPA reviewed storage of medication and equipment/supplies, and reviewed children’s, personnel, and administrative records. Director McQuirter was reminded that it is her responsibility to know the Child Care Center regulations which can be accessed online at www.ccld.ca.gov. LPA reviewed the new Mandated Reporter Training requirements with Director McQuirter.

Notice of Site Visit was posted during the visit. No deficiencies were cited during the visit.
