32 | LPA interviewed three (3) preschool staff members, including S1, and all denied witnessing a staff member mishandle a child in care. All teachers interviewed also denied handling children in a rough manner. LPA interviewed five (5) parents. All parents interviewed stated they would recommend this day-care to other families. LPA attempted to interview four (4) children in S1's classroom, but children were deemed too young to proceed with the interview.
LPA interviewed S1 directly. LPA asked S1, if they had any idea why licensing was conducting an inspection, S1 stated, "Not really". LPA asked S1 if any parents/staff approached them regarding any concerns regarding children in care, S1 stated no one has approached them. LPA asked S1 what the protocol is if children are not listening or following directions. S1 stated, "I try to re-direct what is happening. I ask why are you not listening'.,I talk to the children." S1 denied ever handling a child in a rough manner and also denied pulling child(rens) ear.
This agency has investigated the complaint alleging staff handled day care child in a rough manner. Although the allegation may have happened or is valid, there is not a preponderance of evidence to prove the alleged violation did or did not occur, therefore the allegation is unsubstantiated.
No deficiencies were cited during today’s inspection.
