Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Mike Avila made an unannounced visit to conduct and Random Annual inspection. The LPAs met with Director Rashida Ismail and explained the nature and purpose of the inspection. LPA toured the center accompanied by the Director. The center operates from 7:30 AM to 6:00 PM, Monday - Friday. The center also uses 3 classrooms for care and had a population of 17 in care at the time of the inspection. Required licensing documentation is posted predominately on parent boards at the entry on the center and within center’s classrooms.

The classrooms had age appropriate toys and furnishings available for children. Attached to each classroom are bathrooms containing two toilets. The bathrooms were observed to be safe and in sanitary operating condition. The center’s kitchen is inaccessible to children and was observed clean and sanitary.

Disinfectants and cleaning solutions are in accessible to children and stored in a centralized stock room. Likewise, the center’s medications is stored in a centralized cabinet within a locked file room. Director states there are no medications being dispensed at this time.

The center provides morning and afternoon snacks for the children. Children also bring lunch from home and have access to lunch prepared by the center’s staff for a nominal fee. The LPAs observed posted menus for both the facility’s snacks and lunches.

The center’s outdoor playground area has age appropriate toys/play equipment. The toys/play equipment are in suitable condition. The play structures in the playground area have adequate cushioning materials in the form of sand and ample shape produced by shade trees. The center has individual sippy cups and bottled waters for children in the playground area.

A sampling of children and staff files were reviewed. Staff is current in pediatric CPR/First-Aid until 3/26/2020. Sign In/Out sheets were also on site and observed satisfactory.

The center is not currently providing any Incidental Medical Services (IMS). LPA Avila discussed Safe Sleep and the Effects of Lead Exposure as illustrated on the department's website which can be accessed at www.ccld.ca.gov.



No deficiencies were cited during today’s visit.
