THIS IS AN AMENDMENT OF REPORT ISSUED ON 9/21/2022

On September 21, 2022 @ 10:10 AM Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Rona Chavez conducted an unannounced annual inspection. LPA met with Co-Director Violet Garcia and asked COVID 19 Screening questions. Director provided a tour of the center inside and out. During the time of the inspection there were 79 children in care and 9 teachers providing care.

Center hours of operation is Monday - Friday 7 AM to 6 PM. The center has 8 classrooms, two play yards and a common play space. Center has sufficient amount of toilets and sinks available for the children in care. Facility has all required forms and documents posted at the entrance to the center. Each class room has activity schedule and menu posted. Center provides AM and PM Snacks and Lunch. LPA did not observe any toxic items accessible to children. The class rooms has age appropriate furniture and toys available to the children in care. LPA observed in 2 of the classrooms, a removable carpet square that was lifting off the ground and frayed on the edge. Staff stated the carpet squares were removable and are sticky. LPA observed staff remove square and replace and re-stick carpet down to the ground. LPA observed a working Carbon Monoxide Detector installed in the classroom. The outdoor playground has an ample amount of space for children to play. LPAs observed the playground has age appropriate toys and structures available for children to use. The playground has ample amount of shade available. The facility has water available for children inside and out.

A sampling of staff records were reviewed and found complete. Teachers have required qualifications. Teachers present have current Pediatric First Aid/CPR certificates that expire on 11/15/2023. Teachers present have current AB 1207 Mandated Reporter Training certificates that expire on 5/11/2024.

LPAs verified SB 792 Child Care Adult Immunization and Tuberculosis Requirements. Fire drill record was reviewed and last fire drill was completed on 07/08/2022. Facility uses program ProCare for digital sign in and out of the children. Ten (10) children's records were reviewed and found to be complete.

Center has a toddler component, at the time of the inspection there were 9 infants in care. (18mo-24mo) Center was unable to provide 15 minute check logs for 9 out of 9 children in care. LPA provided resources to the director regarding safe sleep.

A Technical Violation and one (1) Type B deficiencies were sited during today's visit. Please see attached LIC 809-D

LPA discussed the safe sleep regulations with director and discussed the Child Care Licensing Safe Sleep webpage at https://www.cdss.ca.gov/inforesources/child-care-licensing/public-information-and-resources/safe-sleep as an additional resource. LPA also informed director of the importance of checking for recalled infant devices on the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) website at https://www.cpsc.gov/ and recommended they register all infant devices with the CPSC to be notified of any recalls on their purchased equipment.

This facility provides Incidental Medical Services – IMS. LPA reviewed storage of medication and equipment/supplies, and reviewed children’s, personnel, and administrative records. Director was reminded that all adults 18 and over, including employees and volunteers, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a Child Care Center.
