On August 28th, 2024, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Rosie Breault conducted an announced Case Management inspection at the above aforementioned facility. The licensee applied to increase capacity to 24 preschoolers aged 2-5 years. The facility operates Monday – Friday 5:30AM-5:30PM with optional extended care. At the time of the inspection, there were 13 children present.

LPA met with licensee Yolanda Jackson and together toured the facility. Upon entry LPA observed written logs for the purposes of signing in and out and postings placed in a prominent location. LPA measured the on-limits areas and classrooms. The facility has a total of 3 classrooms for care and supervision and designated as classrooms #1, #2 and #3. LPA observed 5 toilets, 1 urinal and 6 sinks available for use, and filter water is supplied. LPA observed classrooms to contain age-appropriate toys and equipment, ample ventilation, sufficient number of cots for napping and rest purposes. Fire extinguisher was last serviced on 4/23/2024. Per licensee, no firearms or ammunition are present on property.

Fire clearance was approved by Ventura County Fire Department on 08/09/2024.

The outdoor play area consists of ample shade, soft padding to absorb falls, and age-appropriate toys and equipment. Per center director, no bodies of water are present on the property.

The indoor total classroom measurements contain 852.50 sq. ft. which will accommodate licensee’s request for 24 preschoolers. The outdoor total play area measurements contain 1,028.53 square feet which will accommodate a maximum capacity of 13 children.

Applicant was reminded that all adults 18 and over responsible for administration or direct supervision of staff, persons who provides care and supervision to children, and staff who have contact with children, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a Child Care Center. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5-days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30-days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated.

The licensee was informed of the MyChildCarePlan.org site, a consumer education website that helps families obtain childcare by connecting them to childcare providers and Resource and Referral Agencies (R&Rs) throughout California.

A Notice of Site Visit was given to the licensee and must remain posted on, or immediately adjacent to, the interior side of the main door for 30 days. No citations were issued during inspection.

Licensee will submit an outdoor play waiver.

License pending approval.
