Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Michael Avila made an unannounced visit for the purpose of conducting an Annual Required facility inspection. LPA Avila met with Assistant Director Crystal Lopez and discussed the nature and purpose of the visit. A tour of the facility was conducted by LPA Avila who was accompanied by Assistant Director Lopez.

The center operates Monday through Friday, from 7:00AM to 6:00PM. The facility utilizes 2 classrooms in caring for preschool age children and one classroom for toddler age children. LPA Avila toured all 3 classrooms and outdoor areas during the inspection. No toxins nor hazards were observed accessible to children in care. Weapons such as firearms are not allowed on the facility. No bodies of water were observed at the facility. All disinfectants, cleaning solutions, toxins or hazards were made inaccessible to children. Classrooms have age appropriate furnishings, books and teaching materials. Medications are kept in a cabinet in the break room which is inaccessible to children. Furniture and equipment is safe and in good condition. Menus are posted in a visible location for parent's view. Trash containers for solid waste have tight fitting covers. Drinking water is available in the classrooms and outdoor activity area by means of igloos. Outdoor play climbing equipment is in good repair, secured to the ground with wood chips on top of rubberized type of cushioning material. All materials and surfaces accessible to children are maintained toxic free. Children's records meet compliance. Sign in and out sheets were reviewed and found to be in compliance.

Incidental Medical Services (IMS). The center currently has children with IMS. Proper documents are kept in child's file. For IMS information see Evaluator Manual - Regulation Interpretations and Procedures for Child Care Centers Sections 101173 and 101226. When any IMS is provided, an updated Plan of Operation that includes IMS must be submitted to the Department. No deficiencies were cited during today's visit.
