25 | Licensing Program Analyst Michael Avila made an announced visit to this facility for a Prelicensing inspection. The center will be a combination center with a Preschool and Infant component. The rooms used for the toddler component of the preschool will now be used as space for the infant center. A Fire inspection was conducted on 5/17/2019 with the approval for 12 infants as requested per Licensee's application. Licensee will utilize 2 classrooms (one crib and one toddler room).
All rooms were inspected and were found to have age appropriate toys and equipment. The crib room is separated from the toddler play space by a wall with both a window and door entry. There are 12 cribs in the infant room. There is a staff bathroom located in another area on the compound. LPA Avila observed a refridgerator and bottle warmers on counter tops in the infant room. The cleaning supplies and sharp tools will be stored above five feet. There is cubby space available for children's belongings. Parents will be providing meals for their infants however the facility will have age meals/snacks available for the children in care if a parent forgets to bring their child's meal. The consumer posting area will be located on a wall at the front of the entrance to the infant room. Director Donna Becker is qualified in both infant units and CPR/First-Aid.
The crib room measured out a total space of 731 square feet and the toddler room measured at 742 square foot which will accommodate the requested capacity of the 12 infants. The yard space for the infant program is fully gated with more than adequate room to accommodate 12 children. The yard has grass for cushioning material and a large tree for shade. Equipment/play structures will be placed in the yard to accommodate the infants in care. Per director the teachers will take out water jugs and cups to hydrate children.
The isolation area is in the director's office. Sick children could use the staff bathroom in the hallway. The program will be operating from 7:00 AM to 6:30 PM. Control of property was confirmed via receipt of property deed. Licensee to operate an infant child care center will be effective August 23, 2019. |
