On March 3, 2022 at 11:03 AM, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Rona Chavez conducted a Required Annual inspection. LPA met with Director Jenna Janzen and advised her the purpose of the inspection. LPA and Director conducted a tour of the facility inside and out. There were six (6) children in care at the time of the inspection with five (5) staff. This is a combination center with a pre-school program.

LPAs observed required licensing documents on the wall in the main office of the facility. LPA observed a facility menu posted. The center provides AM/PM snack, parents provide lunch for their children. The facility has enough restrooms, changing tables and sinks available for the children in care. LPAs did not observe any hazards/toxins items accessible to children. The facility uses two (2) classrooms for the infant program. Each of the classrooms has age appropriate toys and furniture readily accessible for children in care. Facility provides children cribs if they choose to sleep. The outdoor playground has an ample amount of space for children to play. LPAs observed the playground has age appropriate toys. The playground has ample amount of shade available. The facility has water available for children inside and out. LPA observed a functioning Carbon Monoxide Detector in each class room.

Center uses hand written sign-in and sign-out logs Center uses Educa for logging daily activities and parent communication.

LPA viewed 15 minute check logs and observed documented sleep logs in the Educa App. A sampling of children and staff records were reviewed and found complete. Teachers have required qualifications. Teachers present have current Pediatric First Aid/CPR certificates that expire on 10/2023. Teachers present have current AB 1207 Mandated Reporter Training certificates that expire on 02/2024. . LPAs verified SB 792 Child Care Adult Immunization and Tuberculosis Requirements. LPA reviewed Emergency and Fire Drill logs with the last drill being on 2/28/2023. Center has provided Incidental Medical Services (IMS) but does not currently have any children enrolled that require IMS.

Incidental Medical Services (IMS) policy was discussed. For IMS information see Evaluator Manual - Regulation Interpretations and Procedures for Child Care Centers Sections 101173 and 101226. When any IMS is provided, an updated Plan of Operation that includes IMS must be submitted to the Department. LPA discussed the safe sleep regulations with Director and discussed the Child Care Licensing Safe Sleep webpage at https://www.cdss.ca.gov/inforesources/child-care-licensing/public-information-and-resources/safe-sleep as an additional resource. LPA also informed Director of the importance of checking for recalled infant devices on the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) website at https://www.cpsc.gov/ and recommended they register all infant devices with the CPSC to be notified of any recalls on their purchased equipment.

Director was reminded that all adults 18 and over, including employees and volunteers, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a Child Care Center. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day up to $500.00 maximum per day/per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated.

No deficiencies were cited during today's inspection.


A notice of site visit was given and must remain posted for 30 days.
Failure to comply with posting requirements shall result in an immediate civil penalty of $100.
