On August 6, 2021 at 11:30AM, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Betzayra Cervantes conducted an unannounced visit for the purpose of performing a Required- 1 Year and Case Management - Licensee Initiated inspection. LPA spoke to licensee's assistant Victoria Almanza on the phone and conducted a COVID-19 risk assessment. All answers indicated no exposure to COVID-19. LPA discussed the nature and purpose of the inspection. Assistant and LPA toured the facility inside and outside. Licensee was away at a doctor's appointment at the time of the inspection. LPA observed assistant caring for 4 children. Assistant present has a valid CPR/First Aid certificate with an expiration date of 01/08/2022.

This facility is a two story home with four bedrooms and three bathrooms. Licensee is utilizing the home’s family room as the main play room, dining room, kitchen, backyard, and one restroom for daycare. There is a child safety gate at the base of the stairs which serves as a barrier to the upstairs of the home preventing access to the 4 bedrooms and 2 restrooms. LPA observed a fireplace with a metal cover in the living room making it inaccessible to children. Additionally, there is a child safety gate at the entrance to the living room preventing access. LPA observed age appropriate toys and furnishings available for children in care. The backyard has sufficient shade and age appropriate toys for children in care, found in good condition and free of hazards. LPA observed a storage shed in the backyard made inaccessible with a key lock. The smoke alarm & carbon monoxide detector were tested and found operational. A regulation 2A10BC fire extinguisher was serviced on 2/16/2021 and was observed mounted on the kitchen wall. LPA reminded assistant to either service or purchase a regulation fire extinguisher annually.

LPA observed the home to be clean, orderly and void of hazardous items. The bathroom used by children in care is clean and free of toxins. Cleaning compounds are locked away in the garage making them inaccessible to children. LPA observed knives stored in an elevated shelf in a locked pantry out of children's reach. Toys and equipment observed in the FCCH are age appropriate.
