On 10/06/2020 at 3:00 p.m, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Jill Laxo conducted a tele-video Pre-licensing inspection via FaceTime (due to the COVID-19 State of Emergency). LPA Laxo met with Applicant Ana Coyle and together toured the preschool. A virtual tour and measurements of the two classrooms, two playgrounds, kitchen, bathrooms, office and multipurpose room was conducted.

The two classrooms are located in the front of the building both have smoke and carbon monoxide detectors. Both Classrooms have bathrooms with three toilets and three sinks. Classroom #2, The toddler component has a changing table and sink. The rooms are equipped with age appropriate furniture and toys with water dispensers available to children. There are two fenced playgrounds located on the premises. Playgrounds have climbing structures with shaded area and age appropriate activity equipment.

The kitchen is located outside of the toddler playground. Morning and afternoon snacks and lunch are provided. Menus are posted in both classrooms. The kitchen is equipped with prep areas, sinks, locked storage cabinets and refrigerator. The staff room is located next to the kitchen and has an adult restroom and locked storage for medication and files. Classrooms 1 and 2 have a total of 6 toilets and 8 sinks which meets the requirement for 48 children. Applicant provided rental agreement. All paperwork for Director is complete including AB1207 and pediatric CPR and First aid.

The measurements for classrooms 1 and 2:
Classroom 1: 880.80 square feet
Classroom 2: 905 square feet

The total square footage for 2 classrooms is 1785.8 which meets the requirement for 48 children. The measurements of the two playgrounds is 6828 square feet which meets the requirement for 48 children. Multi purpose room located next to toddler playground measures 1456, use has not been determined. Licensee will notify CCLD of use and provide sketch of room and equipment.

The Fire clearance was granted for 48 children on 09/28/2020.

The facility is licensed effective 10/07/2020

LPA Laxo reviewed COVID-19 guidelines/resources with Director. LPA also reminded Applicant to continue monitoring the CCLD website at www.ccld.ca.gov for updates.

Incidental Medical Services (IMS) policy was discussed. For IMS information see Evaluator Manual - Regulation Interpretations and Procedures for Child Care Centers Sections 101173 and 101226. When any IMS is provided, an updated Plan of Operation that includes IMS must be submitted to the Department.
