Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Lauren Scott met with Director, Cathlean Ripley to deliver the findings of the complaint investigation regarding the above allegation.

During the course of the investigation, LPA Scott conducted interviews, and obtained information pertaining to allegation. It was alleged that staff were not taking appropriate measures to prevent children from harming each other. Interviews conducted with teachers and children, revealed children are talked to about their behaviors. If behaviors are physically harmful to others, children are offered time out or space away from the group. Facility will make a behavior plan with the parents if needed. This can include having the child go home for the day if the behavior does not diminish with teachers help.

Based on the information obtained throughout the course of this investigation the above allegations could not be substantiated or dismissed. LPA learned that although behaviors may occur in the classroom, teachers do have plans in place to keep children safe and eliminate the behavior. Although the allegation may have happened or is valid, there is not a preponderance of evidence to prove the alleged violation did or did not occur, therefore the finding is UNSUBSTANTIATED.

Exit interview was conducted. A notice of site visit was provided and must remain posted for 30 days. Failure to comply with posting requirements shall result in an immediate civil penalty of $100.
