25 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Amy Silva met with the facility Director, Janet Thompson for the purpose of an unannounced random annual inspection. Upon arrival, there were no children present. Director stated that facility operates Monday thru Thursday, from 8:45AM to 11:45AM. Staff were present and sanitizing the classroom.
LPA toured the facility, including classroom TB118, all activity/classroom areas, isolation area, food service area, diaper changing table, and outdoor play areas. Toxic and hazardous items are inaccessible to children. Fire extinguisher, carbon monoxide detector and smoke detector meets regulations. Furniture and equipment are in good condition. Toileting facilities are in safe, sanitary, and operating condition. Infant changing tables are located near a sink, have a padded surface that is washable and at least one inch thick, and they have raised sides that are at least three inches high. The floors appeared clean throughout the facility. All food was protected against contamination. Storage containers with solid waste have tight-fitting covers. Director stated that the center does not provide meals for the children. Director added that parents bring their own food for the infants. Drinking water was readily available to children both indoors and outdoors. LPA observed full legal signatures while reviewing the sign in and sign out sheets.
Four staff and four children's records were reviewed. Each child's file contained the required documentation. At least one staff member present today has current Pediatric CPR and First Aid certification (exp. 9/2021). Mandated reporter training is current for all staff.
All staff currently employed with the facility have a criminal record clearance and all required documentation on file. There are no firearms or bodies of water on the premises.
