25 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Amy Silva met with Director Susan Schuster for the purpose of an unannounced random annual inspection. Upon arrival, there were three staff and 22 children present. Upon arrival children were coming in from outside play to wash their hands and have lunch. Facility hours of operation are Monday through Friday from
7:15 AM to 6:00 PM.
LPA toured classrooms, restrooms, and outdoor play area. Toileting facilities are in safe, sanitary, and operating condition. The floors appeared clean throughout the facility. Toxic and hazardous items are inaccessible to children. Furniture and equipment are in good condition. All food was protected against contamination. Storage containers with solid waste have tight-fitting covers. Program provides morning and afternoon snacks. Menus were posted. Drinking water was readily available to children both indoors and outdoors. Currently, 3 children in care require medications. Medications are stored appropriately. LPA observed full legal signatures while reviewing the sign in and sign out sheets.
Two staff files and 3 children's files were reviewed. Each child's file contained an emergency card and a medical assessment. At least one staff member present today has current Pediatric CPR and First Aid certification (exp. 6/8/20).
All staff currently employed with the facility have a criminal record clearance, health screening report, immunization records, and documentation of the educational background, training, and/or experience. There are no firearms or bodies of water on the premises. Fire extinguisher, carbon monoxide detector and smoke detector meets regulations.
