25 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Erwin Tjhia conducted an unannounced 1 Year required inspection and met with Licensee, Stefanie Deering. LPA observed 10 children supervised by Licensee, and 2 Assistants. Criminal record clearances have been verified. Licensee operation hours are Monday- Friday: 7:30 AM - 5 PM.
Licensee was reminded that all adults 18 and over living or working in the home, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a licensed Family Child Care Home. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5 days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30 days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated.
LPA and Licensee toured the facility during the inspection. Off limit areas are all bedrooms and shed in the yard. The backyard is fenced. Licensee stated there are no weapons in the home. Licensee had recently installed a hot tub on the side yard. During the inspection today, LPA observed the hot tub is covered with a lid that supports the weight of an adult and locked on all 4 sides, per Title 22 regulations.
LPA observed that there were no hazardous items accessible to children. LPA observed that cleaning materials were inaccessible. Fire extinguisher, smoke detector, and carbon monoxide detector meet regulation. Toys appear to be safe.
