25 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Amy Silva met with Licensee, Maria Sanchez for an unannounced random annual inspection. The census included 5 children ages 1, 1, 2, 4 and 4 years old. Licensee is part of the Kid Care Food Program. Off-limit areas are: Master bedroom, 2 closets by the garage and side yard. Licensee acknowledges that children may never enter these off-limit areas.
Facility has a pool. Pool is properly fenced and in compliance with Title 22. Pool is enclosed with a 5 foot tall with a see through wire mesh fence around it. Fence had a self latching gate. Licensee states there are no weapons or firearms in the home. LPA observed poisons, cleaning compound's, medications and other hazardous items are inaccessible to children. Fire extinguisher, carbon monoxide detector and smoke detector meets regulations. Safe toys and play equipment are observed. There is a working telephone. Adequate supervision is being provided during this visit.
The capacity as specified on the license is being maintained. Staff-child ratios are maintained. All adults who reside or work in the home have a criminal record clearance or exemption. There are no excluded individuals present at this home. Pediatric CPR/FA is current and will expire 3/20/21. Mandated reporter training is current and will expire 7/02/20. A child roster is maintained. Fire and disaster drills are conducted once a month and documented. Child records were reviewed. Hours of operation are 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM; Monday thru Friday and other hours as arranged.
LPA reviewed with licensee the handouts “A Child Care Provider’s Guide to Safe Sleep” and “Safe Sleep Regulation Concepts” and "Lead Poisoning Facts" and gave her a copy of these handouts.
