25 | On 5/31/22 at 10:45am, an annual required inspection was made to the facility by Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Emilia Grisak. This program is operated by Head Start and operates year-round, Monday–Friday from 7:30am - 4:30pm. The facility was toured at 10:55am inside and outside and the floor and yard plan submitted by the licensee were verified. Infants and toddlers each have separate classrooms but utilize the same play yard at different times.
In the infant classroom, there were three teachers/aides supervising seven children, and in the toddler classroom there was one teacher supervising four children. Facility is operating within the licensed capacity and ratio requirements. There are no pools or bodies of water on the premises.
Eleven children's records were reviewed at 11:15am. Four staff records were reviewed at 11:50am.
Center Director was reminded that all adults 18 and over, including employees and volunteers, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a Child Care Center. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day up to $500.00 maximum per day/per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated
LPA discussed the safe sleep regulations with Center Director and discussed the Child Care Licensing Safe Sleep webpage at https://www.cdss.ca.gov/inforesources/child-care-licensing/public-information-and-resources/safe-sleep as an additional resource. LPA also informed Center Director of the importance of checking for recalled infant devices on the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) website at https://www.cpsc.gov/ and recommended they register all infant devices with the CPSC to be notified of any recalls on their purchased equipment
