32 | Per facility representative, there are currently children on any medication and LPA reviewed the IMS plan along with storage of medications. The first aid kit is available in the classroom B. Sign-in and sign-out logs were reviewed to verify census and signatures. LPA reviewed staff files and children files. There are no bodies of water accessible to children. Per facility representative, there are no firearms on the premises. Teachers present today meet the qualification requirements, have required current immunization and mandated reporter training. Fire/Disaster Drills are conducted monthly, and a review of the log shows the last drill was conducted 4/13/26. LPA verified both opening and closing staff have current CPR/First aid training.
Facility representative was reminded that all adults 18 and over, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a Child Care Center. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5 days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30 days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated.
This facility provides Incidental Medical Services – IMS. LPA reviewed storage of medication and equipment/supplies, and reviewed children’s, personnel, and administrative records. Facility representative was reminded that EMSA approved Pediatric CPR & First Aid training must be completed every two (2) years. Mandated Reporter Training ("Child Care Providers") is required for all staff and is to be renewed every 2 years by visiting https://mandatedreporterca.com/. Personnel and facility roster must be properly maintained, and fire/disaster drills must be conducted at least every six (6) months and documented.
Facility representative was reminded that California law requires facilities to report unusual incidents and/or injuries to children in care, to the child's parents, and to the Department within 24 hours by phone, fax, or email. Within seven (7) days from the incident, facilities must submit the Unusual Incident/Injury form (LIC 624) to the Department. LPA informed Facility representative that all forms can be downloaded at www.ccld.ca.gov.
