On 07/14/23, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Melissa Domantay met with Director of program for Alameda Island Kids (AIK), Utronda Wilson. The facility has submitted an application for a room change. The center will operate Monday: 7:00AM - 8:30AM, Wednesday: 12:10PM-6:00PM, and Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday 2:00PM-6:00PM. The school age program will be operating in the Multi-Purpose Room and the new classroom being added, Room 112 . There is 1 sink and 1 toilet for school age children in the Room 112. LPA toured the room that is being added, Room 112 to conduct a health and safety inspection. Facility is located on the school grounds of Bay Farm Elementary School.

A fire clearance was received from the Alameda City Fire Department dated 06/30/23 for 66 school age children ages 4.9-12 years.

LPA observed that there is sufficient heating, lighting and ventilation in the classrooms, and the classroom floors and surfaces are clean and free of hazards. The rooms have an ample supply of age appropriate furniture, toys and equipment which appear to be in good condition. LPA did not observe any bodies of water, hazardous items or toxins that would be accessible to children. LPA observed operating sinks and covered waste cans. The facility is equipped with fire extinguishers, and centralized smoke detection systems. The facility has a working telephone and first aid supplies.

Per Director of AIK, Utrondra Wilson, carbon monoxide detectors have been purchased and will send proof of carbon monoxide detectors inside classroom Room 112 to LPA.

The new Room 112 will be made part of this license with a capacity of 66 children is approved as of 7/14/23. There are no deficiencies being cited today. Exit interview conducted with Director of program for Alameda Island Kids (AIK), Utronda Wilson.
