On 08/17/2022 at 9:20am, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Kelly Phan met with Bertha Taitague (Preschool Director) for an unannounced required 1 year inspection. Present for this inspection are the preschool director, a fingerprinted and associated staff member, and 9 preschool aged children. The facility is operating on the St. Paul United Church. Facility operating modified hours are 8:00 am to 5:30pm Monday -Friday. The facility was toured to conduct a health and safety inspection.

At 9:30AM, LPA toured the classrooms and observed three classrooms are tidy and clean with heating and ventilation for safety and comfort. However, the facility is only operating out of the middle classroom for the time being and is sharing the classroom with St. Paul Church every Sunday. Facility will use one of the unoccupied classroom as an isolation area for any sick children. There are safe age-appropriate toys and learning materials available to children throughout the classroom. There were no hazardous materials and toxins present during today's inspection. Furniture accessible to children was observed to be age-appropriate, in operable condition, and free of loose, sharp, or pointed parts. Facility provides AM and PM snacks along with lunch from their kitchen area, which is clean and is free of potential hazardous items; all food are in original containers and are not expired. At 9:40am, the playground was observed to be operable and fully intact. Areas around swings, slides, and high climbing equipment have cushioning material to absorb falls. There are no pools, hot tubs, ponds, or any other bodies of water accessible to children during today's inspection. Safe drinking water is available to children inside and outside the facility. There are several trees in the outdoor area, however if the weather is too hot the children would play indoors. Three classrooms also have clean bathrooms that has good amount of soap and paper supplies, and there were no cleaning supplies were observed to be accessible to children. There is also a backpack of first aid supplies in each classroom that is only accessible to staff members. Per Bertha (center director), the facility is not providing or administering any medications to children in care. SEE LIC 809 C
