On 03/14/2025 at 10:00 AM, Licensing Program Analysts (LPAs) Kayla Merchant and Kareeca Sykes conducted an unannounced annual inspection for Thania Marin's large family child care home. LPAs met with licensee, and she guided analysts on a tour of the facility. During today's inspection, there were 6 children in care (3 infants, 2 preschoolers and 1 school-age) and 5 children enrolled (2 children present are family members that live in the home but are in ratio). Also present during inspection is licensee's husband and adult son-in-law. Family members residing in the home are licensee, licensee’s husband, adult daughter, sister-n-law, son-in-law, nephew and grandson. All adults in home have Criminal Record Clearances. Facility hours of operations are Monday - Friday 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM.

This is a single story home which consists of 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, kitchen, dining room, living room, in-law unit in the rear of the home, and backyard with a locked shed.

The children on limits areas: Dining and living rooms (preschool room), bathroom off of the kitchen and backyard. Applicant will be utilizing the living and dining rooms as the main rooms for her day care area.

Areas off limits include: Both bedrooms, in-law unit, remaining portion of backyard, kitchen and shed.

The LPA toured all areas used by children during this visit.

Areas accessible to children were inspected to ensure that they are clean and orderly with ventilation and central heating system for safety and comfort. There were safe age appropriate toys, play equipment and materials observed for children. There is a working telephone in the home. Detergents, poisons, cleaning compounds, medications, and other items which can pose a danger to children are made inaccessible in the home.
