32 | Around 1:30 PM, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) asked the licensee whether she was providing Incidental Medical Services (IMS) to children in care, and the licensee stated that she was not. LPA discussed the Incidental Medical Services (IMS) policy with the licensee. LPA advised the licensee that when any IMS is provided, a Plan for Providing IMS must be submitted to the Department. The following information regarding ADA was provided: US Department of Justice (USDOJ) toll-free ADA Information Line at (800) 514-0301 (voice)/ (800) 514-0383 (TTY) and link to publication: Commonly Asked Questions about Child Care Centers and the ADA, available at: https://www.ada.gov/resources/child-care-centers/.
LPA inspected the cabinets in the on-limit areas, which include the living room, kitchen, child care room, first bedroom on left side of hallway, bathroom, and did not observe any hazardous materials or toxins accessible to children during today’s inspection. LPA tested the smoke detector in the day-care room and the carbon monoxide detector in kitchen and found both to be functioning properly. The home is equipped with a working telephone, a first aid kit, and a fully charged 3A40BC fire extinguisher, which meets the standards established by the State Fire Marshal. There’s also a fireplace in the living room that has a barricade/screen to prevent access by children.
At 1:45 PM, LPA inspected the backyard area and confirmed that no pools, hot tubs, or other bodies of water were present, in compliance with childcare licensing regulations. The outdoor play area includes play equipment and outdoor furniture, such as tables, chairs, bench, slides with cushioning underneath to absorb falls, hoop baskets, water tables, ride on cars, big wheels, and play houses. The backyard is fully fenced and free from defects or dangerous conditions. A large awning provides shade and protection from harmful sunlight during outdoor play. There are multiple sheds with locks to prevent children from accessing the equipment and tools in the backyard.
At 2:15 PM, LPA requested and reviewed the files of five (5) children in care and two (2) staff files. All children’s files contained Parent Notification Additional Children in Care, Identification & Emergency Information, Parent’s Rights, and Medical Consent forms. The staff files have the required Health Records, Statement Acknowledging Requirement To Report Child Abuse, and Employee Rights. During the review, LPA Woods also checked the health records of the licensee, staff, and children and found that the licensee is in compliance with immunization laws applicable to childcare providers.
The licensee conducts and documents fire and disaster drills once every six months, with the most recent drill conducted on 05/22/26. The licensee’s Health and Safety training is completed, and their CPR and First Aid certification is current, expiring in 01/2028. Additionally, the licensee completed mandated reporter training on 01/21/2025. The facility roster was reviewed and accurately reflects current children enrolled as well as those no longer attending the facility. All required licensing documents are posted and visible for public review.
