32 | FOOD SERVICE: Children provide their own lunch and snacks from home daily. Snacks are provided upon request. There is a kitchen area (off limits) with refrigerator for staff that was observed by the LPA to be neat and orderly, free of any hazards or damage. All storage containers for solid waste have tight fitting covers that are in good repair as observed by the LPA. Kitchen and break room area were observed by the
LPA observed to be free of evidence of rodents, vermin or insects.
OUTDOOR PLAY AREAS: Center yards have multiple structures and riding bikes that are age appropriate and in good repair as observed by the LPA. Yards are completely fenced and free of visual damage or hazards. All structures are anchored for stability and foam/grass cushioning is present to absorb falls and prevent injury. There is a canopy area with benches and trees that provides shade to children while at play. LPA observed and Center Director confirmed that there are no pools, hot tubs or any bodies of water present at the facility. the middle yard has a garden section that is used to grow fruits and veggies for children in care.
RECORDS: All individuals subject to criminal record review have a clearance or exemption and have been associated to the facility. Six (6) children's files and five (5) staff files were reviewed including the director's file. All staff files have required health screening and Employee Rights and all children files contain Identification & Emergency, Personal Rights, and Medical Consent forms. LPA reviewed the facility roster and obtained a copy. Mandated Reporter Training and CPR/First Aid certificates for all staff were reviewed and are up to date. The center is in compliance with the sign in and out procedure. Disaster drills are being conducted at least once every 6 months and the last one was conducted on 8/28/2028. All required documents are posted in a public accessible area.
Center Director was reminded that all adults 18 and over, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a Child Care Center. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5 days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30 days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated.
This facility does provide Incidental Medical Services (IMS). LPA inspected storage of medications and equipment/supplies, and reviewed children’s, personnel, and administrative records.
