25 | On May 14, 2026, at 9:10 AM, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Elimika Woods conducted an unannounced Annual Random Inspection and met with Director Jody Boggs. The LPA disclosed the purpose of the inspection, and the facility was toured both indoors and outdoors to conduct a health and safety inspection. There were 30 preschool-age children present during the inspection, supervised by six (6) staff members. The facility operates Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:30 PM.
All individuals subject to criminal record review have obtained a criminal record clearance or exemption and are associated with the facility. The LPA conducted a census of the children and verified that the census matched the 30 children signed in on the attendance sheet. The designated isolation area for ill children is located next to the Director’s desk and is separated from other children in care.
At approximately 9:15 AM, the LPA inspected the three (3) classrooms and observed that teacher child ratios were being maintained. The classrooms were arranged to encourage exploration and learning. Each child had an individual storage space for personal belongings. Adequate play and learning materials were available, and the floors were clean. Furniture and equipment were age-appropriate and in good repair.
At approximately 9:30 AM, the LPA reviewed five (5) children’s files. Each file contained the required Admission Agreement, Notification of Parents’ Rights, Medical Consent Form, and Identification and Emergency Information. At approximately 10:15 AM, the LPA reviewed three (3) staff files. Each file contained the required Health Screening Report, Employee Rights forms, and the Statement Acknowledging Requirement to Report Child Abuse. At least one staff member present held a current Pediatric CPR and First Aid certification.
The LPA tested the carbon monoxide detector and confirmed it was functioning properly. The facility is equipped with hardwired smoke detectors throughout the building. According to the Director, the smoke detectors are fully operational, regularly serviced, and connected to notify the Pleasanton Fire Department when activated. The facility also maintains a working telephone, first aid kits, a pull-down fire alarm system, and multiple fully charged 3A40BC fire extinguishers that meet standards established by the State Fire Marshal. Disaster drills are conducted at least once every six months. The most recent drill was completed on April 14, 2026. All required licensing documents were posted in an area accessible to the public.
