25 | On July 1, 2022 Licensing program Analyst (LPA) Indira Loza arrived at the facility to conduct an annual random inspection. Present for the inspection were the Licensee, one infant and three preschool aged children. The home was inspected to conduct a Health and Safety check. Operating hours are Monday through Friday 8:00am to 5:00pm.
The home is a two story home. The home consists of a living room, kitchen, 3 bedrooms, 1 bathroom, a basement converted into a bedroom, driveway and an inaccessible garage on the side of the house. There is a bedroom on each level of the home. The bedroom on the main floor is a play/nap room. There is a fully charged 2A10BC fire extinguisher and a working smoke alarm. The On Limit areas are the driveway, living room, dining room, bathroom, and the bedroom to the right of the dining room. The Off Limit areas are the basement, the inaccessible garage and upstairs bedroom, and the kitchen, which the children only walk through to access the bathroom. The Isolation Area is the play/nap room on the main floor. The outdoor play area is the driveway. The Licensee states that there are no firearms in the home.
The Licensee has a current pediatric CPR and First Aid certificate which expire on March 2024. The Licensee provides food and snacks to the children. There are no children in care who receive Incidental Medical Services. LPA Loza reviewed the children's files and obtained a copy of the children's roster.
Licensee was reminded that California Law requires Licensee to report unusual incidents or injuries to children in care, to child's parents, and to the Department of Social Services using the Unusual Incident/Injury form (LIC 624). Incidents must be reported within 24 hours by phone or fax. Licensee was also informed that Mandated Reporter Training ("General" and "Child Care Providers") is required for all staff and is to be renewed every two (2) years by visiting http://www.mandatedreporterca.com.
Children’s Roster must be properly maintained, and fire/disaster drill must be conducted every six (6) months
