25 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Melanie Otsuji arrived to the facility unannounced to conduct an ANNUAL/RANDOM INSPECTION. LPA was met by Licensee, Hiral Patel. Also present during today's visit was a fingerprint cleared assistant, licensee's fingerprint cleared spouse and 10 children (3 infants and 7 preschoolers) LPA toured the day care for a health & safety inspection.
The ON LIMITS area consist of the kitchen, living room, the added room off the living room, the first bedroom located down the hallway, bathroom located in play area, bathroom located off of the hallway and the backyard. OFF LIMITS areas consist of the last two bedrooms, and the garage. The off limits areas will be inaccessible by closed and/or locked doors and visual supervision. The home has heating and ventilation for safety and comfort. The BACKYARD play area is fenced. LPA observed a fully charged fire extinguisher, working carbon monoxide and smoke detector on site. Licensee conducts and documents disaster drills at least once every 6 months. Licensee has current mandated reporter training and was last taken on: 6/13/2023
Licensee was reminded that all adults 18 and over living or working in the home, including employees and volunteers, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a licensed Family Child Care Home. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day up to $500.00 maximum per day/per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated.
Incidental Medical Services (IMS) policy was discussed. When any IMS is provided, a Plan for Providing IMS must be submitted to the Department.
