25 | Licensing Program Analysts (LPAs) Jyoti Saini and Lorraine dacanay-Breaux met with Licensee, Moran- Maria De La Cruz for an unannounced Annual Random Inspection. Present for the inspection were licensee and fingerprint cleared and associated helper, supervising, 3 infants, 4 preschoolers. The home is a two-story home. The home consists of a living room, kitchen, 3 upstairs bedrooms, one (1) upstairs bathroom, one (1) downstairs bathroom, a closet, converted garage, unfenced front yard and a back fenced yard. The hours of operation are 8:00am to 5:00pm, Monday -Friday.The provider has liability insurance through Farmers company. LPA's reminded Licensee to pay her fee timely to avoid late penalty assessment. On limit area are the living room and dining room, the kitchen, bathroom #1, deck and backyard.
Off-limit-areas: the entire second floor which includes a bathroom and three (3) bedrooms and converted garage. All off limit areas are inaccessible by closed and/or locked doors and visual supervision.
LPAs inspected the house for health and safety hazards. Daycare Area is equipped with age-appropriate toys and equipment for children. Home has a working telephone, a working smoke and carbon monoxide detector, and a fire extinguisher that meets the minimum requirements. There are child size tables and chairs for snack and activities. The napping cots in good condition and each child have their separate blankets. Licensee states there are no guns or weapons of any kind in the home. There is a child safety gate located at the bottom of the stairs to prevent access to the stairs and upper levels to children in care. Licensee and helper’s CPR is current. Licensee provides daily snacks and meals. Discipline policy is redirection. LPAs reviewed children’s files. All the files are complete and up to date. All required postings are properly posted. LPAs discussed safe sleep guidelines and reminded to document 15 minutes sleep check. Provider was reminded of NO walker, exersaucers, jumpers, bouncers and any similar items to be used for children in care and shall be made inaccessible.
