25 | On May 27, 2026, at 11:05 AM, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Elimika Woods met with licensee Georgianna Quihuis to conduct an unannounced annual random inspection. The facility operates as a large family childcare home licensed with a capacity of 14 children. At the time of the inspection, there were two (2) children being supervised by the licensee’s fingerprint-cleared assistant. LPA toured the facility with the licensee, both inside and outside, to conduct a health and safety inspection.
This single-story home, rented and operated by the licensee, consists of three bedrooms, two bathrooms, a living room, play room, kitchen, backyard, and one car attached garage. The hours of operation are Monday through Friday from 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM.
On-limit areas include: Living room, playroom, kitchen (for eating only), bathroom across from the kitchen, and backyard. The isolation area of the home will be a section of the playroom, away from other children in care.
Off-limit areas include: Three (3) bedrooms, hallway bathroom, and one car garage. These areas are made inaccessible to children by closed and/or locked doors and visual supervision.
The home was observed to be clean, orderly, and well maintained, and is equipped with centralized heating and ventilation to ensure the safety and comfort of children. The kitchen and playroom are secured with gated barriers to prevent children from freely accessing those areas. LPA asked the licensee whether she has firearms in the home or provides transportation for children in care. The licensee stated that she does not have any firearms in the home but does provide transportation for children in care. LPA reviewed the licensee’s driver’s license on file and verified that it is current.
LPA inspected the cabinets in the on-limit areas, which include the living room, playroom, kitchen, bathroom, and did not observe any hazardous materials or toxins accessible to children during today’s inspection. LPA tested the smoke detector located in the playroom and the carbon monoxide detector located in the hallway and found both to be functioning properly. The home is equipped with a working telephone, a first aid kit, and a fully charged 3A40BC fire extinguisher, which meets the standards established by the State Fire Marshal. There is also a fireplace in the living room that is blocked by furniture to prevent access by children.
