25 | On March 3, 2024, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Lorraine Dacanay Breaux met with licensee Sowmya Ramakrishnan for an Unannounced Required Annual Inspection. LPA disclosed the purpose of the inspection and was granted entry into the facility by the licensee. LPA provided LIC126 to licensee. Present during the inspection was the licensee's fingerprint cleared assistant, Archana Upadhyay and adult fingerprint cleared daughter. There were nine (9) children in care. Licensee stated that the facility operates from Monday to Friday 08:15 AM to 6:00 PM.
Upon arrival LPA toured the facility inside and outside to conduct a Health and Safety inspection and conducted a census. This is a single story home with 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. The home was neat and clean with heating and ventilation for the safety and comfort. The Isolation area of the home will be a section of the dining room (with double doors), away from other children in care.
On-limit-areas include: (right side of the home) Living room, family room, dining room (double doors), main bathroom near the front door and the rear yard.
Off-limit-areas include: Kitchen and the left side of the home, which includes all 3 bedrooms (master bedroom and bathroom) and 1 bathroom hallway , and two (2) car garage.
The off-limits are will be made inaccessible by closed and/or locked doors and visual supervision. There's a fire place in the dining room that has a barricade/screen to prevent access by children. LPA did not observe any hazardous materials or toxins accessible to children during today’s inspection. There are no pools, hot tubs or any other bodies of water present in the on-limit areas during today's inspection. Licensee confirmed there are no pools/hot tubs at the home.
The home has a working smoke detector, working carbon monoxide detector, first aid kit, telephone, and fully charged 3A40BC fire extinguisher mounted near the kitchen area. Per licensee, there are no firearms in the home. LPA asked the licensee does she transport children and the licensee stated that she does not transport children. Licensee confirmed that she resides in the home. Licensee does have current child care insurance expires 4/2025.
