25 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Jyoti Saini met with licensee Kadirimallikadevi SenthilKumar for a CASE MANAGEMENT VISIT - INCREASE IN CAPACITY. All adults requiring background clearance have been cleared and associated to this facility. Present during this inspection was Licensee, and her mother supervising 3 preschoolers. Licensee lives in the house with her husband, 2 children, and mother. The home is a two-story home with 4 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, great room, kitchen, dining room, laundry room, loft, garage, and back yard. The hours of operation are 8:30am to 6:00pm Monday -Friday. The facility has approved fire clearance with the condition that garage, and second floor cannot be used at any time. LPA inspected the facility for health and safety hazards.
Day care area: kitchen, dining room, living room, downstairs bedroom to the right of the entrance, adjacent bathroom, and backyard.Off-limit-areas: the entire second floor and garage. All off limit areas are inaccessible by closed and/or locked doors and visual supervision.
There are no pools, hot tubs, ponds, or any other bodies of water. All hazardous materials and toxins were observed to be made inaccessible to children. All bathroom/kitchen cabinets are latched to prevent children from access. The stairway has child safety gate at the base of the stairs. The home has fully charged 3A40BC fire extinguishers, working smoke detector, working carbon monoxide detector and working telephone. Per Licensee, there are no firearms in the facility. The licensee CPR and first aid certificate are current and expires 4/2024. Licensee completed the Mandated Reporter Training which expires on 04/25. Licensee has current immunization records on file. There are no pets in the home. Children bring their own snacks and meals. Discipline policy is redirection. All required postings are properly posted.
Staff-children ratios discussed with Licensee for a Large Family Child Care Home (FCCH). If there is no helper, Licensee will need to operate within the small FCCH in regard to ratios. If care is provided to the 7th and 8th child for a Small FCCH, or 13th and 14th child for a Large FCCH, the last two children need to be school aged (6 years old).
