On 4/22/22 at 1:00PM, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Catherine Fernandes arrived unannounced on a required annual inspection and met with owner/Director Marielle Cammarata. No children were in care during the inspection. One additional finger print cleared staff member later arrived. The center and playground were inspected to conduct a health and safety check. The program is located in the same building as a dance school and the entrance to the after school program is on Patterson avenue. Facility staff provide transportation for children in care. Director Cammarata has current commercial driver's license with passenger endorsement. The center operates Monday through Friday 3:00PM to 6:00PM and on Wednesdays at 1:30PM to 6:00PM.

The center is equipped with age appropriate materials and equipment. Furnishings and play items are free of hazardous conditions. There are no cleaning items/toxins or poisonous items observed to be accessible to children. All required postings are present. The school-age program has an outdoor play area as well as a gym downstairs, being used as a "gross motor" area. A waiver has been granted to allow no more than 15 children at a time between the outdoor play area and the downstairs gym. The outdoor play area is fenced in all around and climbing structures are sufficiently cushioned. There is shade available for the children in the play yard. There are 2 sinks and 2 toilets available for children and both provide privacy. The staff have a separate bathroom located downstairs. The isolation area for sick children to rest is on the couch in the lounge room. The facility serves snacks and there is a microwave and refrigerator available. There is menu is available and posted. Drinking water is available in the classrooms, as well as the gross motor room. The center has first aid supplies available and a working phone. The center staff have been filling out the sign in/out sheet for parents due to COVID. The carbon monoxide detector was located on the second floor, there are two 3-A-40-BC fire extinguishers available one upstairs and one downstairs. The center's fire system is hard wired. There is one opening and closing staff member available that have a current CPR and First Aid certificate. There are no pools, hot tubs or other accessible bodies of water. Per director, there are no firearms present on the premises.

LPA Fernandes reviewed 10 children's files and all staff records. All current staff have mandated reporter training. As of today no IMS is being provided. At the end of the inspection 15 children arrived with two staff members.

The center was reminded that all adults 18 and over, including employees and volunteers, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a Child Care Center. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day up to $500.00 maximum per day/per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated.
