25 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Jyoti Saini met with helper Kendall Frazier for an unannounced annual random inspection. LPA disclosed the purpose of the inspection and was granted entry into the facility by the helper. The licensee arrived during the inspection. This is a two-story home consisting of four bedrooms, four bathrooms, a loft, a living room, a family room, a dining area, a kitchen, an office, a laundry room, a front yard, a backyard, and a garage. The licensee lives in the house with her husband, brother, and three minor children. Present during this inspection were the licensee and the helper, supervising four (4) preschoolers. The licensee is within the capacity limits of a large license. The hours of operation are from 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday through Friday. The facility has liability insurance through DCI Insurance.
On-Limit Areas: Family room, dining room, living room, kitchen, loft (main daycare area on the second floor), bathroom (upstairs and downstairs), and backyard.
Off-Limit Areas: All bedrooms, laundry room, office, and garage. All off-limit areas are made inaccessible to children by locked doors, safety gates, and visual supervision.
The home has a working telephone, a working smoke and carbon monoxide detector, and a fire extinguisher that meets the minimum requirements. During today’s inspection, LPA did not observe any bodies of water. According to the licensee, there are no firearms stored in the house. There is a fireplace located in the living room, but it is screened to prevent access to children. There are two entrances to the stairs, and both are barricaded to prevent access by children. The napping room was in good condition, and each child had their separate blanket. According to the licensee, the blankets are washed weekly by the parents. The licensee provides two snacks, and children bring their lunch from home. The backyard is designated as a play area, which is equipped with age-appropriate toys and fully fenced.The licensee has valid CPR and first aid certification, which expires in 9/2026. Both the licensee and the helper also have updated mandated reporter training on file. According to the fire drill log, the last emergency drill was conducted on 7/22/2024 at 11:00 AM and is properly logged. LPA reviewed all children's files, and all files are complete and up to date. The facility roster was reviewed, and a copy was obtained. There are no infants enrolled. LPA discussed the safe sleep guidelines, and the licensee acknowledged the understanding.
