25 | On April 29, 2026, at 2:20 PM, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Elimika Woods met with licensee Pamela Randall to conduct an unannounced annual random inspection. The facility operates as a large family childcare home with a licensed capacity of 14 children. At the time of the inspection, seven (7) children were present and being supervised by the licensee’s fingerprint cleared assistant. LPA toured the facility with the licensee, both inside and outside, to conduct a health and safety inspection.
The facility is owned and operated by the licensee and consists of three bedrooms, two bathrooms, a living room, dining area, kitchen, and an attached one-car garage. The hours of operation are Monday through Friday, from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
On-limit areas include the living room, dining area, bathroom, and kitchen. The isolation area is designated as a section of the living room, away from other children in care.
Off-limit areas include all bedrooms, the backyard, and the garage. These areas are made inaccessible to children by closed and/or locked doors and visual supervision.
The home was observed to be clean, orderly, and well-maintained. It is equipped with heating and ventilation to ensure the safety and comfort of children. The living room and hallway have wall heaters with a barricade/screen to prevent access by children. LPA inquired whether the licensee has firearms in the home or provides transportation. The licensee stated that there are no firearms in the home and that transportation is provided for children in care. LPA reviewed the licensee’s driver’s license on file and verified that it is valid and current.
LPA inspected cabinets in the on-limit areas, including the living room, dining area, bathroom, and kitchen, and did not observe any hazardous materials or toxins accessible to children during the inspection. LPA tested the smoke and carbon monoxide detector in the kitchen; both were found to be functioning properly. The home is equipped with a working telephone, a first aid kit, and a fully charged 3A40BC fire extinguisher that meets State Fire Marshal standards.
