25 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Jyoti Saini met with Licensee, Shaheen Mohammed for an unannounced Annual Random Inspection. LPA disclosed the purpose of the inspection and was granted entry into the facility by the licensee. Present during this inspection was Licensee and helper supervising one infant and 9 preschoolers. Licensee lives in the house with her husband and two children. The home is a two-story home with 4 bedrooms, 2.5 bathrooms, living room, kitchen, dining area, laundry room, garage, and back yard. The hours of operation are 8:30am to 6:00pm, Monday -Friday.
Day care area are the living room (main day care area), kitchen, dining area, half bathroom, backyard.
Off-limit-areas: the entire second floor, and garage. All off limit areas are inaccessible by closed and/or locked doors and visual supervision.
LPA inspected the house for health and safety hazards. Daycare Area is clean, orderly, and equipped with age-appropriate toys and equipment for children, indoors and outdoors. Home has a working telephone, a working smoke and carbon monoxide detector, and a fire extinguisher that meets the minimum requirements. There are no bodies of water in the day care area.There are ample of age-appropriate toys that appear to be safe and in good condition. LPA did not observe any hazardous materials or toxins accessible to children during today’s inspection. The napping cots in good condition and each child have their separate blankets. Per licensee, parents wash the bedding weekly.There is a child safety gate located at the bottom of the stairs to prevent access to the stairs and upper levels to children in care. Licensee states there are no guns or weapons of any kind in the home. There are no pets in the home. Licensee’s CPR is current. Licensee provides lunch and kids bring their own snacks. Discipline policy is redirection. LPA reviewed children’s files. All the files are complete and up to date. All required postings are properly posted. LPA discussed safe sleep guidelines and reminded to document 15 minutes sleep check. Licensee was reminded of the responsibility as a mandated reporter. The helper will complete the required mandated reporter training when it is offered in her primary language. The licensee was also reminded to conducts and documents Fire/Disaster Drills twice a year.
