25 | On September 10, 2025, at 8:00 AM, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Elimika Woods met with licensee Christina Carter for an unannounced annual/random inspection. LPA disclosed the purpose of the visit and conducted a tour of the facility, both indoors and outdoors, to complete a health and safety inspection. There were four infant children present during the inspection. Also present were the licensee’s two assistants, both of whom have fingerprint clearance. The facility operates Monday through Friday from 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM.
This two story home consists of four bedrooms, two bathrooms, a living room, dining room, kitchen, family room, backyard, day-care room, and one bathroom located downstairs is owned by the licensee. The home was observed to be clean and orderly, with centralized heating and ventilation for safety and comfort. The childcare area contains a fireplace that is blocked by a cabinet and made inaccessible to children in care. LPA asked the licensee if she transports children, and the licensee stated that she does not. Per the licensee, there are no weapons of any kind in the home, including firearms.
During the inspection, LPA inspected cabinets in all on-limit areas, which include the childcare room, downstairs bathroom, bedroom used as a nap room, and any other accessible cabinets. No hazardous materials were observed in these areas at the time of inspection.
On-limit-areas include: Downstairs childcare room, downstairs bathroom, bedroom (nap room), and backyard.
The Isolation area of the home will be the downstairs nap room, away from other children in care.
Off-limit-areas include: Entire upper level of home, and outer backyard area pass the white gate
The off-limits will be made inaccessible by closed and/or locked doors and visual supervision.
At 8:45 AM. LPA tested the dual smoke & carbon monoxide detector in the childcare area and found it to be functioning properly. The home has a working telephone, a first aid kit, and a fully charged 3A40BC fire extinguisher which meets standards established by the State Fire Marshal.
