On Wednesday August 21, 2024, Licensing Program Analysts, (LPA) M. Domantay and Diana Campos met with Applicant, Malyka Chop, for the purpose of an announced case management inspection for an application that was submitted for a change of capacity increase and room change. Facility is requesting to increase toddler program capacity to 12 toddlers to 18 toddlers. Facility is changing room #5 from a preschool classroom to a toddler classroom. Facility operates Monday through Friday from 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM. The fire clearance was granted on 6/11/2024 for 24 infants ages 0-24 months and 72 preschoolers, ages 2 years to first grade entry with a toddler option of 18 toddlers ages 18-36 months by the Alameda City Fire Department.

INDOOR ACTIVITY SPACE:
The facility is requesting for a room change. Room #5 is being added as the toddler classroom.

Toddler classroom is equipped with varied age appropriate materials and equipment. LPAs observed sufficient amount of equipment, toys, tables, and chairs during today's inspection. There is 11 sinks and 8 toilets available for children. The office will serve as the isolation area for ill children and will use the staff restroom, if necessary. Facility will utilize manual sign in/out. LPAs observed cleaning disinfectants are appropriately stored and inaccessible to children. Applicant stated there are no poisons or firearms on the premises. LPAs observed a combination carbon monoxide detector in Room #5.

LPA measured the new toddler classroom, Room #5. The total classroom space contains a total of 670.35 square feet, which will accommodate Applicant's request for the additional 6 toddler children. There is a separate private restroom for the staff within the facility. Individual measurements are recorded on the Capacity Worksheet (LIC 9024).

OUTDOOR ACTIVITY SPACE:
There are no changes to the toddler outdoor play yard. All measurements remain the same from previous inspections.

LPA discussed 100% supervision is always required in all areas that children have access to including the
bathroom. Personal Rights, inspection authority, reporting requirements, maintaining buildings and grounds
was reviewed. Staff Qualifications, Staff to Children’s ratios and Capacity was explained to ensure
compliance. LPA discussed with Applicant any changes that may occur regarding the director or an employee acting in the director’s absence must be reported to the department within 10 working days.

Applicant was informed of the MyChildCarePlan.org website; a consumer education website that helps families obtain childcare by connecting them to childcare providers and Resource and Referral Agencies (R&Rs) throughout California.



Community Care Licensing Division (CCLD) regularly sends information to licensed facilities, providers, and
stakeholders by way of Provider Information Notices (PIN), Program Quarterly Update Newsletters and other
important information communication platforms.
