32 | OUTDOOR PLAY AREAS: Play yard has a play structure with slide that is anchored for stability and has foam cushioning to absorb falls and prevent injury. There are canopy's covering the yard to provide shade for children while at play. LPA observed and Director confirmed there are no pools, hot tubs, or any bodies of water present at the facility.
FOOD SERVICE AREAS: Center kitchen was observed by LPA to be neat and orderly. Kitchen has a refrigerator that was inspected and there were no signs of pests, rodents or vermin. This facility provides lunch and snacks daily for children in care. There are weekly menus posted at the facility. All storage containers for solid waste have tight fitting covers that are in good repair.
RECORDS: All individuals subject to criminal record review have a clearance or exemption and have been associated to the facility. Seven (7) children's files and nine (9) staff files were reviewed, including the assistant director's file. All staff files have required health screening and Employee Rights and all children files contain Identification & Emergency, Personal Rights, and Medical Consent forms. LPA reviewed the facility roster and obtained a copy. Mandated Reporter Training and CPR and First Aid certificates were reviewed and are up to date. The center is in compliance with the sign in and out procedure via Bright Wheel App. Disaster drills are being conducted at least once every 6 months and the last one conducted was on 8/30/2024. All required documents are posted in a public accessible area.
Assistant Director was reminded that all adults 18 and over, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a Child Care Center. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5 days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30 days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated.
This facility provides Incidental Medical Services – IMS. LPA reviewed storage of medication and equipment/supplies, and reviewed children’s, personnel, and administrative records.
