On January 9th, 2025 at approximately 9:25am, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) April Wright arrived at for an unannounced Annual Random inspection and met with Assistant Center Director Wendy Ly. Present during today's inspection were fifty-six (56) preschool age children and eight (8) fingerprint cleared staff personnel. The facility is in ratio today. The facility was toured for a health and safety inspection. Hours of operation are Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 6:00pm.

CLASSROOMS: Center has four (4) classrooms of which three (3) are currently in use (Fuji, Gala and Jazz). McIntosh classroom currently has no children present due to enrollment. The floors are neat and free of visual damage or hazards. The children's furniture and equipment are age appropriate and LPA observed them to be in good repair. There is adequate heating/air conditioning, ventilation and lighting for safety and comfort. Drinking water is available inside and outside of the center. There is proper individual storage space for each child in each classroom. The isolation area for sick children remains the Tutoring Room, away from other children in care. The center has smoke/carbon detectors, working telephone, and two (2) fully charged 3A40BC fire extinguishers located in the hallways. LPA observed and Center Director confirmed that there are no pets, firearms or weapons located in the facility. LPA observed and Director confirmed that are no toxins, medicines, cleaning products or hazardous materials visible during today's inspection and were made inaccessible to children in care. At least one person trained in CPR/First aid is present at the facility when children present.

BATHROOMS: The staff's bathroom are located in the hallway (across from the director's office) which is away from the classrooms. Staff and children's bathrooms are neat, sanitary and in good condition. All sinks and faucets are in safe and sanitary operating condition and made accessible for children. Supplies, paper towels and soap are available for children.

OUTDOOR PLAY AREAS: Play yard has a play structure with slide that is anchored for stability and has foam cushioning to absorb falls and prevent injury. There are canopy's covering the yard to provide shade for children while at play. LPA observed and Director confirmed there are no pools, hot tubs, or any bodies of water present at the facility.

FOOD SERVICE AREAS: Center kitchen was observed by LPA to be neat and orderly. Kitchen has a refrigerator that was inspected and there were no signs of pests, rodents or vermin. This facility provides lunch and snacks daily for children in care. There are weekly menus posted at the facility. All storage containers for solid waste have tight fitting covers that are in good repair.

RECORDS: All individuals subject to criminal record review have a clearance or exemption and have been associated to the facility. Seven (7) children's files and nine (9) staff files were reviewed, including the assistant director's file. All staff files have required health screening and Employee Rights and all children files contain Identification & Emergency, Personal Rights, and Medical Consent forms. LPA reviewed the facility roster and obtained a copy. Mandated Reporter Training and CPR and First Aid certificates were reviewed and are up to date. The center is in compliance with the sign in and out procedure via Bright Wheel App. Disaster drills are being conducted at least once every 6 months and the last one conducted was on 8/30/2024. All required documents are posted in a public accessible area.

Assistant Director was reminded that all adults 18 and over, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a Child Care Center. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5 days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30 days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated.

This facility provides Incidental Medical Services IMS. LPA reviewed storage of medication and equipment/supplies, and reviewed children’s, personnel, and administrative records. Assembly Bill (AB) 2370, Chapter 676, Statutes of 2018, requires all licensed Child Care Centers (CCCs) constructed before January 1, 2010, to test their water (used for drinking and food preparation) for lead contamination before January 1, 2023, and then every 5-years after the date of the first test. For child care center licenses issued after July 1, 2022, the licensee shall test their water for lead within 180 days of licensure pursuant to Written Directives section 101700 (PIN 21-21.1-CCP).

LPA verified that the lead testing was completed in accordance to the Written Directives
outlined in PIN 21-21.1-CCP. PIN 22-05-CCP.

Facility representative was informed of the MyChildCarePlan.org website; a consumer education website that helps families obtain child care by connecting them to child care providers and Resource and Referral Agencies (R&Rs) throughout California.


A notice of site visit was given and must remain posted for 30 days. Exit interview conducted and report was reviewed with the Assistant Center Director Wendy Ly.
