On 06/14/23, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Melissa Guirit arrived at the facility for an announced case management inspection for a change of capacity and adding of rooms. LPA met with Director, Dara Leon. Present for today's inspection were 17 children and two staff. The normal hours of operation are Monday-Friday 8:00am-5:00pm. LPA conducted a tour of all the classrooms to conduct a health and safety inspection. The additional two rooms are on the upper level of the facility. Per Director, the preschoolers will be moved to these two classrooms. The measurements are as follows:

INDOOR: 547.54 = 16 children
OUTDOOR: remains the same as previous report measurements

A fire clearance was received from the Oakland Fire Department for 24 preschoolers two years to first grade entry.

LPA observed that the classrooms has sufficient lighting and appears to be clean and in good condition. LPA observed an ample supply of age appropriate activities, equipment, furniture, and are equipped with varied age appropriate materials and equipment. There are four toilets and five sinks available for children use. The outdoor play areas are fully fenced and have ample supply of age appropriate activities, equipment, and furniture. There is sufficient cushion to absorb a child's fall under the play areas. Per Director, they are planning to replace the play structure soon. LPA reminded Director to notify us when that should take place. LPA observed ample amount of shade for children. The building has fully charged 3A40BC fire extinguishers and first aid supplies. There is a working telephone at the center. LPA did not observe any hazardous items that would be accessible to children.

A license for a capacity of 24 preschoolers will remain pending to figure out what the third room will be utilized for.. There are no deficiencies being cited today. A Notice of Site inspection was provided to Director, Dara Leon and an exit interview was conducted.
