25 | On 07/07/22, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Melissa Guirit and Melissa Domantay arrived at the facility for an unannounced case management inspection for a change of capacity and adding of a classroom. LPAs met with Director, Yi Que. Present for today's inspection were 46 preschooler and 6 staff. The normal hours of operation are Monday-Friday 7:30am-6:00pm. LPAs conducted a full tour of the facility to conduct a health and safety inspection with Yi. The addition of the new room results in the following measurements:
INDOOR: 3,654.22 sq ft = 104 children
OUTDOOR: 22,233 sq ft = 296 children
A fire clearance was received for 105 preschoolers from the Berkeley Fire Department on 07/05/2022.
LPAs observed that the classrooms has sufficient lighting and appears to be clean and in good condition. There are sufficient amount of sinks and toilets for children to utilize. Facility will be adding an additional bathroom for children making it 7 toilets, 3 urinals, and 15 sinks. There is a designated staff bathroom. LPAs observed an ample supply of age appropriate activities, equipment, furniture, and are equipped with varied age appropriate materials and equipment. LPAs observed the preschool outdoor play yard areas, they are fully fenced and have ample supply of age appropriate activities, equipment, and furniture. There is sufficient cushion to absorb a child's fall under the play structures and play areas. LPAs observed ample amount of shade for children.
The building has a fully charged 3A40BC fire extinguisher and first aid supplies. There is a working telephone at the center. LPAs did not observe any hazardous items that would be accessible to children.
