25 | On 06/22/22, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Melissa Guirit conducted a Pre-Licensing inspection today, for a change of Ownership. LPA met with Applicant, Veronica Carranza and Director Rosa Gonzales. LPA toured all areas of the facility for a health and safety inspection. 23 children and 4 staff were present at the time of this inspection. The hours of operation are Monday to Friday 7:30 AM to 6:00 PM. Facility utilize both electronic and paper sign in/out. Per applicant and Director, all measurements and rooms remain the same from previous ownership.
A fire clearance, with a total capacity of 30, was received from the Alameda City Fire Department on 05/31/22. A clearance for 30 preschoolers ages 2 years to first grade entry.
LPA observed that the classrooms has sufficient lighting and appears to be clean and in good condition. There are 2 toilets and 2 sinks for children to utilize. LPA observed an ample supply of age appropriate activities, equipment, furniture, and are equipped with varied age appropriate materials and equipment. LPA observed the backyard play yard. It is fully fenced and has ample supply of age appropriate activities, equipment, and furniture. There is sufficient cushion to absorb a child's fall under the play structures and play areas. LPA observed ample amount of shade for children.
The building has a fully charged 3A40BC fire extinguisher in each classroom, working carbon monoxide and smoke detectors, and first aid supplies. There is a working telephone at the center. LPA did not observe any hazardous items that would be accessible to children.
