25 | On 03/09/2022 approximately at 11:23AM, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Kelly Phan arrived at for an unannounced required inspection, and met with Licensee Poonam Kalani. Present for this inspection was 4 infants and 7 toddler aged children along with her fingerprinted and associated helper, Anjum Saifi. Also residing in the home is the licensee's fingerprinted and associated husband, Rajesh Kalani along with their 6 years old son. The home was toured with the licensee to conduct a health and safety inspection. Hours of operation for day care are Monday through Friday, 8:30am to 6:00pm.
ON LIMITS: bathroom #1, full backyard, dining room, living room, and childcare room (main area for day care/sun room) and right side yard
OFF LIMITS: garage, kitchen, and bedroom #1, bedroom #2, bedroom #3, bedroom #4, and left side yards. Off limit areas are inaccessible by closed and/or locked doors, gates, and full visual supervision.
The home is single story, which is neat and clean, with heating and ventilation for safety and comfort. A child safety gate is being used at the entry of the daycare as licensee is using a gate to keep children in the child care room area/sunroom. There were ample age appropriate toys that were observed to be safe and in good condition. Toxins, medicines, and hazardous items were inaccessible during today's inspection. There were a fully charged 3A40BC fire extinguisher, working dual carbon monoxide and smoke detectors, along with telephone. Per licensee, there are no firearms or pets or any bodies of water or fireplace in the home. The licensee conducts and documents fire drill log indicates a drill was conducted 02/09/2022. All required licensing documents are posted and visible for public review. At 11:45AM, LPA and licensee toured the outdoor area of the facility. LPA inspected the outdoor area and concluded that it is safe and has good amount of appropriate toys and activities for outdoor play. Licensee also informed LPA that a neighboring park is sometimes used. Children usually eat their lunches/snacks on the outdoor table that consists of shade.
