On December 9, 2021, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Caroline Colson met with Yaqin Yang and her assistant, Limei Sun, for an unannounced required annual inspection at 10:21 AM. The home was toured to conduct a Health and Safety Inspection. The facility's operating hours are 8:00 AM to 5:30 PM on Mondays - Fridays.

The home is a two story home. The home consist of two downstairs bedrooms, one upstairs bedroom, living room, dinning room which is the napping room, kitchen, one bathroom, fenced front yard, fenced back yard and fenced side yard. The fenced front yard will be used for the outdoor play space. The upstairs bedroom, kitchen, fenced back yard, fenced side yard are the off-limit areas in the home. There is 2A10BC fire extinguisher, a working smoke detector and a working carbon monoxide detector. She has a partially screen wall heater. Mrs. Yang states that there are no firearms in the home. She provided a rental agreement to show control of property. There are toys available for the children. CPR and First Aid certificates are current and expire on September 2023. The isolation area will be the napping room. There is one gold fish.

The attached type B deficiencies are being cited today and must be corrected by the due date.

Family Child Care Homes

Licensee was reminded that all adults 18 and over living or working in the home, including employees and volunteers, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a licensed Family Child Care Home. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day up to $500.00 maximum per day/per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated.

Safe Sleep

LPA discussed the safe sleep regulations with Yaqin Yang and discussed the Child Care Licensing Safe Sleep webpage at https://www.cdss.ca.gov/inforesources/child-care-licensing/public-information-and-resources/safe-sleep as an additional resource. LPA also informed licensee [facility representative] of the importance of checking for recalled infant devices on the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) website at https://www.cpsc.gov/ and recommended they register all infant devices with the CPSC to be notified of any recalls on their purchased equipment.
