25 | On 8/17/22, Licensing Program Analysts (LPAs) Melissa Guirit and Melissa Domantay conducted Prelicensing inspection today, for a new initial application for preschool. LPAs met with Director, Alesia Eutsler and toured all areas of the facility for a health and safety inspection. The hours of operation are Monday through Friday from 8:00am to 5:00pm. Children will be utilizing 2 classrooms, rooms 5 and 7. However, 3 classrooms are licensed, rooms 5, 7, and 9. The measurements are as follows:
INDOORS: 2,625.18 sq ft = 75 children
OUTDOORS : 2,126.42 sq ft = 28 children
A fire clearance, with a total capacity of 96 preschoolers, ages 2 years to first grade entry was received from the Oakland Fire Department on 07/27/22.
LPAs observed that the classrooms has sufficient lighting and appears to be clean and in good condition. LPAs observed an ample supply of age appropriate activities, equipment and furniture. The facility has a total of 6 sinks and 6 toilets. The building has fully charged 3A40BC fire extinguishers in each classroom, working fire alarm and carbon monoxide detector, and first aid supplies. There is a working telephone at the center. LPAs did not observe any hazardous items that would be accessible to children. Children will utilize personal reusable water bottles, with water still accessible to children inside and outside. Facility will providing breakfast, lunch, and snack. Facility will utilize electronic sign in/out.
LPAs observed the outdoor play area, which is contained with partitions to ensure the safety of children in care. LPAs observed ample amount of shade for children. A waiver for outdoor play will need to be submitted.
