25 | On 10/27/22, Prelicensing visit was conducted today by Licensing Program Analysts (LPAs), Melissa Guirit and Melissa Domantay. LPAs met with applicant, Krystell Guzman and Director Rocio Guerrero. The applicant submitted an application for a preschool license. A health and safety inspection was conducted inside and outside. The preschool program will operate in 6 classrooms, Monday to Friday from 7:00am-6:00pm. The facility is in the same buiding as a Jr. High School but entirely separate. The measurements are as follows:
INDOORS: 2,487.32 sq. ft. = 71 children
OUTDOORS : 7,266.48sq. ft. = 97 children
A fire clearance was received for 60 preschoolers ages 2 years to first grade entry from the Oakland Fire Department on 10/10/22.
LPAs observed that the classrooms has sufficient lighting and appears to be clean and in good condition. LPAs observed an ample supply of age appropriate activities, equipment and furniture. The facility has 10 sinks and 5 toilets. There is a staff stall for adult use. The building has fully charged 3A40BC fire extinguishers, working fire alarm and carbon monoxide detector, and first aid supplies. There is a working telephone at the center. LPAs did not observe any hazardous items that would be accessible to children. Children will utilize personal reusable water bottles, with water still accessible to children inside and outside. Facility will provide snacks and lunch for children. Facility will utilize electronic sign in/out.
LPAs observed the outdoor play yard, which is fully fenced. LPAs observed two play structures which can be utilized by preschool children. Applicant is reminded to follow all manufacture instructions play structures. There is sufficient cushion to absorb a child's fall under the play structure and play areas. LPAs observed ample amount of shade for children.
