25 | On Tuesday November 12, 2024, Licensing Program Analyst, (LPA) M. Domantay met with Executive Director, Laetitia Medrano, for the purpose of an unannounced case management inspection for an application that was submitted for a change of capacity and room change. Facility is requesting to increase toddler capacity from 17 to 27 toddlers, decreasing preschool capacity from 25 to 17, and a room change. Preschool and Toddler classroom areas are being switched. Facility operates Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:30 PM. The fire clearance was granted on 9/12/2024 for 10 infants ages 0 to 24 months, 27 toddlers, ages 18-36 months, and 17 preschoolers, ages 2 years to first grade entry by the Oakland Fire Department to serve a total of 54 children.
INDOOR ACTIVITY SPACE:
There is 1 toddler indoor area designated for the toddler program and 1 preschool indoor area designated for the preschool program. All infant indoor areas remain the same from previous inspection.
Toddler and preschool classrooms are equipped with varied age appropriate materials and equipment. LPA observed sufficient amount of equipment, toys, tables, cots, and chairs during today's inspection. Per Director, a first aid kit is available in classroom and each outdoor play yard. Medications will be stored in a locked box in the cabinet in the kitchen and in the Toddler Classroom. LPA observed cleaning disinfectants are appropriately stored and inaccessible to children. There are 4 sinks and 4 toilets available for the preschool children. There is a separate private restroom for the staff within the facility. The lobby will serve as the isolation area for ill children and will use the staff restroom, if necessary. Facility will utilize electronic sign in/out and utilizes manual as backup. Applicant stated there are no poisons or firearms on the premises. LPA observed a combination carbon monoxide detector in the staff area during inspection.
