25 | On March 27, 2024 at 2:56pm Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Indira Loza met with Licensees Calvin and Eliane Settachatgul to conduct a case management inspection for a Capacity Increase. Present during today's visit were both Licensees, Assistant Ruth Moran Guevara, three (3) preschool age children, and three (3) infants. The operating hours are 8am-5pm Monday-Thursday.
The home is a single story apartment in the lower level of a quadplex. The home consists of a living room, kitchen, dining area, two bedrooms, and one bathroom.
The Off Limit Area is the kitchen. The off limits areas will be made inaccessible by gate, closed and/or locked doors and visual supervision.
The On Limit Areas are the living room, both bedrooms, bathroom, the driveway, and the grassy areas in front of the apartment complex. The applicants were reminded to have 100% supervision of the children when playing outside.
The home was recently Licensed on 2/6/24, LPA did a walk through of the home and observed a pull down fire alarm near the front door, a working smoke/carbon monoxide detector throughout the home and a 3A40BC fire extinguisher in the kitchen under the sink. The Licensee has Liability Insurance which expires on 3/21/25.
On 03/11/23, a fire clearance was granted to facility #013423932 by Berkeley Fire Protection Department. All documents have been reviewed for the increase of capacity application. The Licensee was reminded that an assistant is needed with a large family child care home license, and whenever an assistant is not present, the licensee will comply with the capacity requirements for a small family child care home.
As of 11/9/23 the home has been approved to operate as a large family day care license.
